While admittedly somewhat limited (about the width and height of an aircraft windscreen) and woefully short of the “big picture”, the pilot’s perspective offers some unique insights into the vagaries of life. Those insights are presented in This is Your Captain Speaking as a series of tales that, while amusing and lighthearted, give one reason to pause and think.

Through the use of personal yarns and unabashedly narrow-minded, limited perspective opinions, Your Captain provides advice on nearly every aspect of human existence. In the style of all pilots everywhere (who know everything there is to know about everything, just ask them) near catastrophes, personal calamities of all sorts, and simple musings about everyday business are presented in such a way as to cause the need to ponder the meaning of it all.

A liberal dose of “Common Sense Stuff” is applied to daily doings in such a manner as to make for some serious fun. The search for wisdom and enlightenment is subjected to the eagle-eyed point of view of the fearless aviator.
